His Eminence, ArchBishop Daniel (Brum) of Chicago

Archbishop Daniel is our diocesan bishop, residing in Chicago. After serving as a Catholic priest for some years and receiving a JCL degree in canon law, he was received into the Orthodox Church and served a parish in Phoenix for many years, before being elected Bishop of Chicago in the summer of 2022. Archbishop Daniel is a member of the Holy Synod of the self-governing Orthodox Church in America.

Very Reverend Fr. Elijah Mueller, PHD

Fr. Elijah Mueller is the Rector of Saints Cyril and Methodius. He lived in Milwaukee during High School, College, and at other times. From 1998-2001, he was the choir director here. He has lived in NYC, Berkeley, and Chicago. He has a BA in Creative Writing (poetry) from UWM, an MDiv from St. Vladimir Seminary, an MA in Biblical Languages from the the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA, and a PhD in Theology from Marquette University, where he studied under Archbishop Alexander Golitzin and wrote his dissertation on St. John Damascene. He served parishes in NYC, Indiana, and founded St. Makarios Mission at the University of Chicago in 2008. He has run Deanery educational programs, and eventually started and still is director of the St. Macrina Orthodox Institute of the Diocese of the Midwest at the request of Archbishop Job, of blessed memory. In 2020, Fr. Elijah and family moved to Milwaukee to pastor Saints Cyril and Methodius. He has done work in many liturgical arts, including iconography, chant and poetry. He is also developing a more complete Old Testament liturgical lectionary.


Very Reverend Fr. Thomas Mueller

Fr. Tom was born and raised in Milwaukee. Ordained on November 19, 1972 in Boston, Massachusetts, he served in Jamestown, NY, Royalton, IL; Lublin, WI; Mentor, OH; and finally in Milwaukee, since 1984. During that time, he served as Dean of the Chicago Deanery from 1987-2018, and chancellor of the Diocese from 1988 to 1993 and 1995. Fr. Tom worked with diocesan missions and parish development in particular. Fr. Tom currently serves two chapel outreach ministries of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Waukesha and Plymouth, Wisconsin. He still serves as president of the pan-Orthodox Milwaukee Orthodox Christian Clergy Association, or MOCCA.
